Rent an Irish cottage?
Why not stay at a traditional cottage owned by a local Irish family in a rural setting in County Waterford. The Nurse's Cottage dates back to the 1930s and is located close to the village of Kilmeaden, outside Waterford City.
There are at least 19 local activities and sights to see and do nearby. More than enough to keep you busy over the course of a week or two!
The interior of the cottage has been renovated and modernized, so that it contains all modern conveniences, but it will still give you a taste of the old Ireland while you enjoy your visit to The Sunny South East of this beautiful country.

The stove is a wood burning stove and gives out great heat.

Cozy!

The kitchen comes complete with oven, hot plates, electric kettle, refrigerator and washing machine. All necessary cutlery (silverware), cooking utensils, plates, cups, mugs etc. are provided. Throw open the door and let in some sunshine!

The living room has armchairs and a sofa. It also has its own fireplace.

Open the windows and enjoy the sounds of the gathering Irish birds outside.

The sofa in the living room converts easily into a sofabed if required.

Electric shower for instant hot water, day or night.

- Mount Congreve gardens, world famous nursery and gardens. A 5-10 minute walk away!
- Killoteran equestrian and horse-riding centre is a 15-20 minute walk away

- Waterford City, Ireland's oldest city and an original Viking town.
- world famous Waterford Glass, where vases, chandaliers, wine goblets have been manufactured. A fascinating guided tour, during which glass blowers demonstrate their craft. Many beautiful glass products are available to purchase.

- eight nearby beaches: Tramore beach, Bunmahon beach, Boatstrand, Ballyduane Cove, Kilmurrin Cove, Dunmore East, Woodstown. Go for a stroll on a different beach every day, if you want.
- Copper coast mining museum, County Waterford. Relive the story of how a mining industry flourished and then disappeared again.

- Sallyfort children's petting farm, County Waterford

- The Bishop's Palace museum, Waterford City. Learn the history of Waterford, this old and very fascinating city.

- Knockeen dolmen, Gaulstown dolmen and other prehistoric and megalithic sites throughout County Waterford. Come and marvel at these ancient structures, built thousands of years ago by pre-historic man.

- The Lost Town of Newtown Jerpoint in County Kilkenny. A mysterious old town, recently rediscovered as the legendary burial site of the original Saint Nichloas (Santa Claus) .

- Waterford Suir railway: experience the wild beauty of the Suir valley, while you let yourself be transported in an historic period railway carriage. Wonderful views of the River Suir!

- Dunbrody famine ship, an escape route for many unfortunate people in the 19th century, now moored at New Ross town, County Wexford. The historic and interesting guided tour on board the ship features local actors, so that you really hear people's stories.
- the Comeragh mountains, a glacial mountain range in the County Waterford. A great day of sightseeing or hiking in the mountain.
- John F Kennedy memorial park, County Wexford

- Mahon Falls, a local attraction which provides a nice hike up to the top, from which you can enjoy marvellous scenic views of the entire county and beyond.
